The Foundation Certificate in Data Protection (“FC.dp.”) is the UK’s leading foundational-level qualification which equips professionals with essential expertise and practical skills in data protection compliance.
This highly-practical introductory qualification programme explores data protection requirements through real-life applications and scenarios.
- The FC.dp. Programme
The FC.dp. Programme requires candidates to complete the folllowing highly practical training courses on a Classroom or Virtual basis:
Data Protection Essential Knowledge – Level 1
Data Protection Essential Knowledge – Level 2
To complete the Programme having attended the requiste training, candidates are then required to:
- study of course materials (supplied for the Level 1 and Level 2 training sessions)
- pass an online examination
Both requisite training courses can be taken on a Classroom or Virtual (Teams) basis, and dates are available throughout the year. Those wishing to attend Classroom training can select from multiple cities/dates throughout the UK.
Online Examination
The examination is wholly online and comprises 20 multiple-choice questions. Candidates are supplied with their own individual enrolment credentials so can proceed with their examination when they feel ready to do so.
Candidates who successfully pass the examination are awarded a certificate and can assign “FC.dp.” after their name should they wish to do so.

Fees
Classroom Programme
£1,495 plus VAT (fully inclusive of tuition, materials and examination).
Virtual-LIVE Programme (facilitated via Microsoft Teams)
£1,295 plus VAT (fully inclusive of tuition, materials and examination).
Programme Enrolment only
£495 plus VAT (this option is for candidates who have completed both requisite courses on an individual basis in the past two years. This option includes enrolment for the examination)
A discount of 10% is available for each additional candidate from your organisation enrolling at the same time.
Candidates who have attended one of the requisite courses in the past two years (on either a Classroom or Virtual-LIVE basis) are not required to attend the same session again. In this instance, the ‘Classroom’ or ‘Virtual-LIVE’ Programee will be reduced by £350 plus VAT to reflect past attendance.
